It all started with the idea to make the world a more myndful place. Then one of us got really sick and the urgency of making it more than just an idea hit us right in the face. So here we are, actually doing it, excited to challenge existing ideas, and ready to empower people to change the way they engage in mental fitness training. Our workouts are seriously fun and functional and will help you see things from a different perspective (sometimes literally). So if you are ready for your portion of myndfulness (and you’re curious why we spell it that way), join us on an incredible journey of mind-body discovery!
You may have been looking at meditation all wrong! It’s does not have to be passive, it’s not all serious, and it’s not about being quiet (although we can all use that moment of quiet now and then). Meditation, like all mental training, should be FUNctional and it’s our mission to make that happen. To that end we use a flavor of meditation that is called functional meditation (more about that here). Fun and function are different for everyone, so we focus on you: whether your thing is sports, arts, education, healthcare, or business.
We try to keep our team like we keep our minds and bodies: focused and lean. We all contribute everything, but the day-to-day organization and content development is headed by Leon Bax. Liane leads the operational aspects and Stefanie coordinates the way we reach the world (and you’ll see her in our workouts).
Although we take care of day to day developments, we all strongly feel that we are just passing along many years of experience from incredible people who have been kind and patient enough to teach us in meditation, martial arts, survival skills, physical therapy, and health sciences. Although we take responsibility for all errors and issues, we can’t take credit for all the cool stuff.
Empowering – Relaxed – Playful – Exploring – Myndful – Fun!
We believe that life is about growth. Every single one of us has experienced moments where we felt stuck in the mud, or felt buried under things piling up. This makes us all like lotus flowers — blossoms that grow from muddy, shallow water. Our logo represents this concept of personal growth, complete with a reflection to remind us where we come from. The name 2Mynds represents ownership of another duality: a mind that is simply being or doing in the moment (operative) and a mind that is thinking and evaluating the past or future (contemplative). These mindsets are not only powerful, they are ours to engage and control.
Think for a moment how fitness coaches use systems to train themselves and then train you (Crossfit, TRX, Zumba, Body Pump, and many more). Now think about mental coaches. How many of them do you know who use a progressive system for mental fitness training? Sure, there are meditation apps, gurus, and sports psychology experts, but systematic approaches that train coaches (so coaches can train you) have been non-existent. Well, until now…
The 2Mynds system implements a unique training approach that helps you step by step with learning, training, applying, and evaluating. First you learn how to train, then you develop your skills in workouts, you apply your skills in functional situations, you evaluate, and you repeat! We call it mind-body training (or a cool acronym if you’re into that stuff: MBT). Everything you need to train can be found online or in the 2Mynds app, but we also use a combination of online training and workshops to train coaches, so they can train you if you want some personal training.
Are you feeling the stress of your challenges in life, sports, school or work? Are you interested in growing your mind and body together in fun workouts? We promise 2Mynds will provide you with a fun way of getting started on your journey of mental skill empowerment. You can customize your training as you go, but we suggest you start by learning about how it works.
We have learning and training programs and you can get started with both for free! Simply register in our online platform and you’ll discover free learning programs like ‘First Steps‘ in your learning dashboard. Below are links to a few programs that can help you get started, but if you want to see all of them, just follow the link below…
